Established in 1996, the Awal Women Society launched an initiative to support the disappearing craft of Naqda by training a group of women and employing them to produce goods decorated with traditional Naqda embroidery.
Following the Bait Al-Naqda venture with the women, I proposed rebranding the project under the name Naqdat Awal, which I co-created with them, and subsequently developed a professional logo and visual identity for the initiative.

The selection of the Diwani Font was based on the similarity between the shape of the needle and the calligraphic shape of the letters.

The words were aligned to follow the same orientation of the Naqda patterns, that are usually diagonal.

And the monograms were framed using a balanced, yet dynamic frame.
